With the start of November comes the halfway mark of this trip, and I realise that there have already been many of these moments in our previous month of travel.
Each new challenge is a lesson in perspective, and a reminder to appreciate and savour the goodtimes as they are happening (as well as in hindsight). Without these things would be like a punchline without the joke - there would be no cause for celebration, no feeling of achievement, no reason to remember the moment. But as we soak up the sunshine and the plethora of adrenalin-pumping activities Queenstown has to offer, I realise how much I would be missing out on if every day were as effortless as today.Ī lesson I am continually learning is that it is ALL part of the experience (the heavy packs on sweaty backs, the frozen nights and rainy days, the fatigue and frustration). As the sun shines over Lake Wakatipu, mirroring the rugged Remarkables' peaks in its brilliant blue water, it is easy to wish for every day to be as clear, calm and cruisy as this one.
